St. Bernadette Catholic School, a vibrant K–8 Catholic school in Lancaster, Ohio, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated full-time 5th Grade Teacher to join our growing school community for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will foster a positive and structured classroom environment rooted in Catholic values while providing engaging and rigorous instruction across core subject areas. We are seeking an educator who is passionate about student growth, collaborative in nature, and committed to building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned to Ohio standards and diocesan curriculum guidelines
  • Create a classroom culture that promotes academic excellence, virtue, responsibility, and respect
  • Integrate the Catholic faith into daily instruction and classroom life
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Utilize data and assessments to guide instruction and support student growth
  • Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school-wide initiatives and a strong school culture
  • Participate fully in the life and mission of the school community

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
  • Have attended or be willing to attend VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church
  • Practicing Catholic preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR TEACHERS
 
TITLE: Teacher
 
QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate state certification/license:
  1. as required by the grade levels and subjects taught
  2. Religious Education certification as required by the diocese
RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal
 
JOB GOAL: To assist students in mastering the skills and information in the school curriculum while helping them to grow in faith and responsibility.
