5-8 Grade Technology Teacher and Technology Hardware Coordinator

Saint Brigid of Kildare School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Technology Teacher (Grades 5–8) / Hardware Coordinator to support both student instruction and the management of school technology systems. This role combines teaching technology classes with overseeing hardware, infrastructure, and technical support across the school. In alignment with our mission, this position helps ensure that technology supports meaningful learning, creativity, and responsible use.
Professional and Performance Responsibilities
Technology Instruction (5th-8th Grade)
- Teach technology classes aligned with technology standards
- Develop and maintain a technology curriculum map
- Support integration of technology into content area classes
- Teach and support:
- Coding and robotics
- Digital tools and creative platforms
- Digital citizenship and responsible technology use
- Manage and teach Typing Agent (5th grade)
Technology Systems & Hardware Management
- Manage and support:
- Server setup, user accounts, and password management
- Security systems (Sophos, network monitoring, cameras via Unifi)
- Software licensing, deployment, and updates
- Device setup, deployment, check-in/out procedures, and maintenance
- Inventory and asset tracking
- Collaborate to manage FACTS and other school systems
- Maintain and update:
- Google Admin (in collaboration with team)
- Apple School Manager and Mosyle
- Active Directory and server systems
- Classroom technology (TVs, whiteboards, speakers, microphones)
- Conductor systems and other instructional tech tools
- Printers, copiers, and poster printing
- Phones and communication systems
- Troubleshoot technology issues for students and staff
- Partner with external vendors for support
- Assist substitute teachers and guest speakers with technology needs
- Attend Technology Coordinator meetings
Teacher Support & Professional Development
- Collaborate to provide technology training for teachers
- Introduce and support technology tools
- Train teachers and students
- Maintain and update tools
- Communicate technology updates and resources to staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, or related field
- Experience working with middle school students
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple systems and responsibilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred but not required:
- Classroom teaching experience
- Experience with Google Workspace for Education
- Experience with device management systems and school technology infrastructure
- Background in coding, STREAM, or instructional technology integration
