Overview:

The Staff Accountant (Accountant I) supports accurate financial reporting for Endeavor Air through the execution of core accounting activities.  This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting the month-end close process under direct supervision.  This role provides the opportunity to gain exposure to broader accounting processes and the end-to-end financial close within a large, operationally complex organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post routine journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and assist in researching discrepancies
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Assist in preparation of internal financial reports and schedules (P&L, Balance Sheet)
  • Compile supporting documentation for internal and external audits
  • Adhere to GAAP, internal accounting policies, and control requirements
  • Coordinate with Finance, Operations, and Procurement teams to obtain accurate accounting information
  • Assist with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline (or in progress)
  • 0-2 years of accounting or finance experience (including internships/co-ops)
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in close-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

 

Preferred

  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. SAP) or accounting tools
  • Internship or entry-level experience in accounting, audit, or finance
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Computer work, in a typical office environment; subject to critical deadlines and fast-paced environment at times. Some travel may be necessary.
  • Some repetitive motion such as typing and position requires some physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, etc. not more than 30 lbs.
  • Can involve long periods of sitting.
  • Ability to work additional hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

FLSA Status: Salary Minimum Position Pay Range: USD $53,800.00/Yr. Maximum Position Pay Range: USD $63,000.00/Yr. New York City 30% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) Eligible: No
