BASIC FUNCTION:
To assist the Site Controller in all financial reporting requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Monthly financial closing duties including: Standard journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, inter-company tie out, audit of shipping and receiving for proper cut-off, Hyperion data/supplement information upload, and preparation and distribution of financials.
- Maintain fixed assets and perform annual fixed asset audit.
- Administrator of the Concur travel card program and purchase card program.
- Prepare annual corporate tax package, sales and use tax, and R&D tax credit.
- Assists in the monitoring of internal controls and adheres to all SOX requirements.
- Provides standard costing and assists in annual physical inventory audit.
- Prepare annual royalty calculation.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in accounting, finance, or related focus (Co-op or internship experience may be included)
- Knowledge: Functional understanding of accounting principles
- Skills/Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions with attention to detail
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Education/Certification: BA or BS in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely closing of the general ledger
- Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems, specifically Hyperion
- Working knowledge of corporate tax processes, including preparation of federal tax packages, sales and use tax filings, and support for specialized credits
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and SOX requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Education/Certification:
- BS in Accounting
- CPA and/or CMA
