About this role

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate brings a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.

Key Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and post month-end and year-end journal entries for multiple companies
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts
  • Analyze general ledger account activity and investigate variances as needed
  • Assist with review and approval of employee expense reports
  • Support oversight and administration of company credit card programs
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company accounting policies and standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Experience applying business standards, internal controls, and best practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects across several entities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound ethical judgment and high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required), Adobe Acrobat, and other accounting-related technology tools
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, management, vendors, and external partners
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Team-oriented with emerging leadership capabilities

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time as required for office work
