About this role
Position Title: Staff Accountant
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Regular Full-time
Supervisor: Senior Accountant
Position Purpose: The Staff Accountant provides support to the Senior Accountant and Controller in managing various accounting and audit support functions.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Prepare and post Journal Entries for transactions ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Assist Senior Accountant in monthly and quarterly account reconciliations including but not limited to students’ revenue, auxiliary revenue, operating expenses, accounts receivable, account payables, and reserves.
Assist with weekly and monthly revenue reporting and reconciliations.
Prepare weekly cash and payments reconciliations.
Assist Senior Accountant with grant accounting, reporting and reimbursements.
Assist Senior Accountant and Controller with external audits to gather documentation, respond to requests, and verify accuracy of supporting records.
Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse stakeholders.
Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting.
Qualifications
0 to 3 years of experience in public or private accounting or other financial position.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Compensation:
The hourly range for this position is $24.00-$28.00. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
