Job Title: Staff Accountant

The Job Details: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting assistance to the Corporate Accounting Manager and Controller.  The Staff Accountant must be able to work independently and take responsibility for the tasks they are assigned. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

        Obtain Assist in preparation of journal entries for month end

        Create and maintain recurring journal entries

        Maintain approval matrix for accounts payable system

        Assist in Fixed asset additions and disposals

        Create month end reports

        Assist Accounting Manager in special project

        Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations

        Close AR and GL for month end

        Revenue Uploads, credits, and cash postings for USCS logistics

        Responsible for generating monthly USCS Logistics P&L

        Assist with any accounting issues that arise from the field

        Manage Kellogg’s discounts

        Prepare consolidated accounts receivables reporting monthly

        Assess quarterly bad debt reserves

        Fix error suspense items for Wells Fargo OOP

        Run CA process for accounts receivable as needed

        Perform check runs for accounts payable

        Deposit checks

        Complete any additional tasks assigned by Accounting Manager and Controller.

        Location, Department and Work Hours:  Fresno, CA, Finance,  Hourly

        Reports To: Matt Adams

        Travel Amount: 15% Travel

What We Are Looking For:

Education

•        4-year College degree required.

Experience

        Effective verbal and written communication skills.

        Professional knowledge and experience in accounting management including problem solving, conflict resolution skills, consulting skills, operational management skills and analytical skills.

        Thorough knowledge of general accounting including thorough skills knowledge plus the application of general accounting theory.

        Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
