Our Finance team is currently seeking a Staff Accountant in our Worcester, MA location.  This is a full-time, exempt role. Position is eligible for a Hybrid/Flex work arrangement.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial results, as well as a variety of research and analytical activities. The role compiles and analyzes financial data related to business transactions for both internal and external reporting purposes. In addition, this position supports the Business Analyst with administrative tasks within the PeopleSoft general ledger and Essbase environments. The Staff Accountant is also responsible for the accurate accounting, tracking, and reporting of fixed assets and asset‑related transactions.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information for business transactions
  • Prepares simple to moderately complex journal entries and performs account reconciliations and data gathering
  • Maintains the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and retirements
  • Records depreciation and amortization in accordance with company policy and GAAP
  • Reconciles fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis
  • May be required to document process flows for areas of responsibility
  • May be required to identify and implement process improvements
  • May be required to document and test procedures implemented for SOX 404
  • May be required to participate in monitoring of overall company close process

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • 0-3 Yrs related experience
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent
  • Able to work independently
  • Prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Communicate effectively with team management
  • Function in a team environment
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel. Essbase, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Power BI and Peoplesoft are desirable

  • Time Management – Effectively manage competing deadlines and prioritize multiple accounting tasks to adhere to strict month‑end and year‑end deadlines through planning and organization.  Manage workload efficiently to support reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit requests. Balance recurring deadlines with ad hoc requests in a fast‑paced accounting environment.

  • Ability to use a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced stressful environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods (75 - 90%)

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
