Position Summary:
The Host's primary role is to create a welcoming and positive first impression, managing Guest seating and ensuring a smooth dining experience. They greet Guests, manage reservations, and coordinate with servers to optimize table flow. Professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication are crucial. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will report directly to the Restaurant Assistant Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Warmly welcome Guests, manage reservations and waitlists, and efficiently seat Guests according to the restaurant's seating plan.
- Handle phone calls, confirm reservations, and manage the reservation system (Open Table) to ensure accurate table
- Communicate effectively with servers and management about Guest arrivals, special requests, and VIP's ensuring smooth service flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area, contributing to a welcoming ambiance.
- Promptly and courteously answer Guest questions about the menu, specials and restaurant details.
- Assist with special requests, such as dietary restrictions or seating preferences.
- Collaborating with other team members, including servers, server assistants, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Ensure a professional and presentable appearance, reflecting the restaurant's dining standards.
- Strategically seat Guests to optimize table usage and ensure an even workload for the serving team.
- Address any Guest issues or concerns related to seating, service or other dining aspects.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Guests and Team Members.
- Ability to manage reservations, seating, and the overall flow of the dining room.
- Ability to ensure accuracy in seating assignments, Guest information, and service details, as well as ensuring that tables are properly clean and set prior to walking Guest to table.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a full-service restaurant is required.
- Experience in a high-volume, fine dining, or upscale restaurant is preferred.
- Current Food Handler certification and RBS certificate required or ability to acquire one (employer will provide upon hire).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of their shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Ability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, graveyard and holidays.
Work Conditions:
Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage.
