JOB TITLE:

Substitute Bus Drivers
JOB SITE:

Bus Garage

JOB GOAL:

To operate school bus and other vehicles in the safe transportation of students to and from school or other activities within the policies and procedures of the district.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Washington State driver’s license with appropriate endorsements, valid school bus driver’s certificate and current First Aid/CPR card required. Evidence of good driving record as evidenced on official driver’s abstract. Ability to satisfactorily meet physical standards for position including adequate sight, hearing and physical strength and agility. Evidence of good moral character. Ability to relate well to students, staff and parents. Evidence of mental and emotional stability to insure ability to exercise good judgment in all driving conditions. Commitment to communicating effectively and inclusively in multicultural settings. Priority given to applicants meeting other qualifications who are fluent in Spanish.
Training will be provided.


EMPLOYMENT
TERMS:

Mondays-Fridays, on-call / as assigned. Salary $27.93 per hour. Medical, dental and other benefits are not available from district approved plans. Ability to pass State/Federal criminal history background clearance and all other mandated clearances. When hiring and promoting personnel, consideration is given to experience and performance in developing effective parent, family and community partnerships. Preference for future open route assignments given to substitute drivers.

PHYSICAL &
MENTAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands include long periods of sitting, driving, reaching, and twisting. Position also requires cleaning, writing, speaking, hearing, kneeling, and removing. Moderate strength and agility required for position. Mental demands include stress of noise in a confined area and contact with students, staff, and community. Other demands are problem solving and constant use of all senses.
