Classified Substitute (Instructional Asst., Administrative Asst., Library Tech, Food Service, Custodial)

The Burlington-Edison School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Classified Substitute. The district is located in Skagit County, Washington, approximately 70 miles north of Seattle on the I-5 corridor. The enrollment of the district is approximately 3000 students.

PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:
Take responsibility for familiarizing yourself with our district and the whereabouts of our schools.
When reporting for an assignment, check in at the office with the building Administrative Assistant.
Familiarize yourself with building procedures.
Substitutes for Food Services must have a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit
Dress guidelines for the following positions:
Admin. Asst. – Casual Business (dress pants/blouse or skirt or dress)
Food Service – casual pants and short-sleeved top
Instructional Asst. – any of the above
Custodial – Jeans, shirt

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment for learning.
Motivate selected students, in accordance with each student’s ability to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for better participation in the total school program.
Ability to develop and maintain favorable relationships and work cooperatively with students, staff and parents.

RATE OF PAY:
Instructional Asst. - $22.38/hr
Admin. Asst. - $25.35/hr
Food Service - $21.31/hr
Custodial - $25.89/hr

EMPLOYMENT TERMS
Mondays-Fridays, on-call / as assigned. Medical, dental and other benefits are not available from district approved plans. Ability to pass State/Federal criminal history background clearance and all other mandated clearances. When hiring and promoting personnel, consideration is given to experience and performance in developing effective parent, family and community partnerships.
