The Energy Markets Analyst Intern will work on a variety of objectives centered around analyzing data pertaining to US energy markets and corresponding factors. Interns will gain first hand knowledge centering around what the state of our grids is, consumption needs/risks and methodologies to meet said demands. Responsibilities will include but aren't limited to:
- Researching across multiple platforms to learn about energy demands across the country
- Performing data analysis around risk assessments, cost analysis, power requirements and other topics
- Building out dashboards pertaining to the above using Tableau and/or Power BI
- Managing project deliverables and associated data within Smartsheets
- Presenting portfolios of information around related topics and engaging in cross-collaborative meetings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Economics, Data Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be a US Citizen
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous exposure using Tableau and/or Power BI
- Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad (https://www.blackstone.com/our-impact/blackstone-launchpad/) affiliate school:
- Auburn University
- Kansas State University
- Georgia State University
- Southern Adventist University
- Texas A&M University
- University of Kansas
- Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
- Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
