<strong>Position Overview<br></strong><br>
</div><div>The Summer Football Coach is responsible for developing football athletes during the off-season by improving <strong>speed, strength, explosiveness, conditioning, and football IQ</strong> in preparation for the upcoming season.<br><br>
</div><div>This role focuses on translating D1’s training philosophy into <strong>football-specific performance</strong>, helping athletes gain a competitive edge before fall camp.<br><br>

<strong>Key Responsibilities<br></strong><br>

<li>Lead football-specific group training sessions and camps<br><br>
</li>
<li>Develop and implement off-season football performance programs<br><br>
</li>
<li>Coach proper sprint mechanics, change of direction, and position-specific movements<br><br>
</li>
<li>Incorporate drills focused on:<br><br><ul>
<li>Acceleration & top-end speed<br><br>
</li>
<li>Agility & reaction<br><br>
</li>
<li>Power & explosiveness<br><br>
</li>
<li>Conditioning for game performance<br><br>
</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Modify and adapt exercises based on age, skill level, and position<br><br>
</li>
<li>Reduce injury risk through proper technique, mobility, and movement patterns<br><br>
</li>
<li>Track athlete progress and provide performance feedback<br><br>
</li>
<li>Build strong relationships with athletes and parents<br><br>
</li>
<li>Maintain a competitive, team-oriented training environment<br><br>

</div><div>A D1 Summer Football Coach must:<br><br>

<li>Teach proper technique and ensure athlete safety at all times<br><br>

<strong>Qualifications<br></strong><br>

<li>Valid AED/CPR/First Aid Certification<br><br>
</li>
<li>At least one NCCA-accredited certification (CSCS, NASM, etc.)<br><br>
</li>
<li>Minimum 1 year of strength & conditioning or football coaching experience<br><br>
</li>
<li>Playing or coaching experience in football (high school, college, or higher preferred)<br><br>
</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field (preferred)<br><br>
</li>
