Work as part of a team to provide support to ensure reliability, availability, efficiency, and functionality of all equipment, processes and projects.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions
- Rotate through different groups within the engineering department to gain a working knowledge of engineering functional areas. Shadowing of other departments, to include, but are not limited to Operations, Maintenance, Radiation Protection and Chemistry
- Will be assigned various engineering projects based on prior experience and courses completed
- Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Possess the ability to work independently on assignments and problem solve with teams and in a dynamic environment
- All other duties as assigned
Education, Experience & Skill Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship
- Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in engineering, data science, or related discipline
- Experience with programming languages, project management, Power BI, or machinery desired
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access Suite desired
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desired
- Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date
- Must be in good academic standing with your school
