About the Role
As a Connectivity Software Product Management Intern, you will support the definition, evaluation, and execution of connectivity-focused software products and services across HARMAN’s automotive and connected ecosystems. This role offers hands-on exposure to product strategy, roadmap development, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and business teams. You will help translate market and customer needs into clear product requirements while learning how large-scale connected software products are brought to market. This is an individual contributor internship role, reporting to a Product Management leader.
What You Will Do
- Support the evaluation, triage, and prioritization of new connectivity software features, use cases, and new business opportunities with outcome-oriented recommendations
- Assist in defining product vision, value propositions, and high-level roadmaps for connected software platforms and services
- Partner closely with engineering, UX, sales, marketing, and operations teams to align product requirements with technical capabilities and business objectives
- Contribute to market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights related to connected and software-defined products in the connectivity space
- Help prepare product documentation, presentations, and go-to-market collateral to support internal stakeholders and customer engagements
What You Need to Be Successful
- 3+ months experience or equivalent coursework/projects in one or more of the following fields: Software, connected systems, artificial intelligence, or digital platforms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas in written and verbal form and collaborate across cross-functional teams
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points if You Have
- Project experience related to Automotive, Connectivity, AI, IoT, Cloud platforms, Consumer devices, Autonomous or Digital ecosystems
- Project experience leveraging Gen AI to solve real world problems
- Exposure to product management tools or frameworks (e.g., road mapping, user stories, requirements definition)
- Experience leveraging market, customer, or competitive insights to develop a specific data-driven product or strategic investment recommendation
- Experience in demonstrating or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry
- Experience working with global or cross-regional teams
- Familiarity with agile development concepts or software development lifecycles
- Design, data analysis, or presentation skills that help tell a compelling product story
- Skill in C, C++, Java, AI-assisted code tooling, or related
What Makes You Eligible
- Must be currently enrolled in a related Bachelor's Degree program or higher at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
- Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
- Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan or Sunnyvale, CA
- Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
- Must provide full work availability from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026 and be able to work 40 hours per week
