Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Intern will support the production facility, working with purchasing analysts and the supply chain supervisor to review suppliers, supply chain trends, and identify areas for cost savings. The candidate will identify trends in purchasing and implement solutions to reduce spending and streamline supply chain processes. The candidate will shadow purchasing analysts, and gain an understanding of purchasing processes, manufacturing processes, standard work, product life cycle systems, and ERP systems. They will have high visibility of manufactured parts and the planning used to manufacturing those parts. Specific opportunities at the facility are exposure to purchasing processes, supplier management, supplier interaction, and cost analysis. The candidate will also be provided the training and opportunity to calculate cost savings or cost avoidance to support overall site cost savings goals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify trends in purchasing, and implement solutions to reduce spending, inventory, and streamline supply chain processes.
- Shadow purchasing analysts, and gain an understanding of purchasing processes, manufacturing processes, standard work, product life cycle systems, and ERP systems.
- Support lead time analysis of supplied materials and production to support inventory reduction.
- Participate in team meetings, capturing action items and ensuring follow‑up.
- Other duties as assigned.

Level of Education:
- Currently pursuing a 4-year supply chain degree, or degree in business. Junior year preferred.
- Must be willing to accept a 3-6 month assignment.
- Previous experience in a supply chain/business role a plus.
