About this role
The supervisor, electric distribution engineering provides highly technical engineering services and direction for individuals within electric distribution engineering. Responsibilities include general supervision of duties for electric distribution engineering employees, planning and setting work objectives for others, providing complex technical solutions for distribution projects, and providing project management oversight in terms of planning, budgeting, designing, and construction of electric distribution facilities.
Responsibilities
Direct, coordinate and review the work activities and work product of the engineers, technicians, distribution specialists and other direct reports. Perform general supervision duties including: managing, developing, motivating, monitoring and evaluating the performance of employees.
Provide advanced engineering services for the planning, design, and construction of electric distribution projects. Directs, coordinates, and reviews work activities and work product of engineers, technicians, lighting specialists, and construction coordinators. Provide technical project management for all phases of a project including design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, scheduling, cost tracking and project cost projections. Oversee or conduct advanced engineering studies and complex investigations, prepare oral and written reports of results, and provide recommendations from the studies/investigations. Provides internal training and advanced engineering assistance for distribution engineering personnel and other departments. Responsibilities may include including training development, internal and external presentations, chairing committees, and perform any additional responsibilities as requested. Develops well-documented work and system processes to support communications, work flow, and project scheduling.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Advanced degree is preferred.
Six years of successful industry experience in engineering or related field.

Advanced project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
