Surgical Services Float Pool- Enterprise Surg Tech
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours, day shift. Shifts are 8 hours, start time typically within a window of 6:15A-7:30A, M-F.
- Department: Surgical Services float pool, operating room
- Location: Candidate will float to both Charlotte and Winston Salem within both inpatient facilities and ambulatory surgery centers, 23 facilities total. This position does not have a set location.
- Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of two years previous Surg Tech experience & NBSTSA certification

What You'll Do
The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
These Surgical Technologist possess the skills, competency, and qualifications, as well as a requirement to work in all facilities within the Greater Charlotte and Greater Winston-Salem markets. This group shall be known as the Enterprise Team. These Surgical Technologists are a part of Surgical Services. The specialties within the Surgical Services Float Pool includes: Sterile Processing, Operating Room, Endoscopy, Pre-Op/Phase II, and PACU.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
- Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, required.
- Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech Certification through NBSTSA, required.
- Additional Skills (required): New graduates must obtain certification within 12months of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
