Position Summary:
The Surveillance Agent is responsible for monitoring casino activities via CCTV to prevent theft, fraud, and other illegal activities, ensuring compliance with state and company regulations. The Surveillance Agent reports directly to the Surveillance Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Ensures the highest possible standards of guest service are provided and listens and responds to guest and Team Member concerns and questions.
- Responsible for protection of North Fork Mono Casino & Resort gaming assets.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Department.
- Participate in the reporting of safety issues.
- Monitor team members' adherence to enterprise policies and procedures, reporting any issues to immediate management so that proper action can be taken. Takes necessary enforcement action for violations of Tribal, State, and Federal laws.
- Maintain and develop strong community relations with law enforcement agencies as necessary (in person, via telephone)
- Maintain good communication and foster a positive, professional work environment.
- Contribute to overall team efforts and departmental results.
- Attends, and satisfactorily completes, all required training as assigned and required.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Use of surveillance systems to monitor the gaming floor and other areas, identifying suspicious activities like potential theft, cheating, or security threats.
- Regular patrols security personnel patrol the casino premises regularly to ensure the safety and security of everyone on the property, enforce casino regulations, and detect any unauthorized individuals.
- Prompt incident response officers are prepared to respond quickly to emergencies, incidents, or disturbances. Their training includes applying de-escalation techniques, providing basic first aid if needed, and coordinating with local law enforcement when necessary.
- Manage and authorize access points for employees, visitors, and other individuals to prevent theft and maintain security standards. This involves verifying identification and ensuring all guests comply with the minimum age requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports, including incident logs and surveillance summaries, for administrative and legal purposes.
- A key duty involves overseeing the secure and safe transfer of cash and other valuable assets within the casino, ensuring all asset movements comply with established procedures and regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Resilience and adaptability when working in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
- Highly proficient in operating business computers and standard office machinery, including expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in one of the following fields: casino operations, law enforcement, or security.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal form.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
- Must not have been convicted of any crime for which registration is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
- Ability to bend, carry, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, or stoop during or for the duration of their shift.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. with or without assistance.
Work Conditions:
Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Work is performed outdoors and can involve continuous exposure to high and low temperatures, sunlight, wet surfaces and noise.
