About this role


I. Job Summary

This position responsible for advancing sustainability education and outreach in the Denver-metro area and  supporting community relations efforts.  

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities


•    Create a tour program for WM’s Aurora-based facilities to educate on sustainability features and impacts. Identify stops on the tour and the associated talking points. Create processes to promote, schedule and host tours and gather post-tour feedback. Build the program integrating best practices from across WM sites in North America. 
•    Participate in community events and customer meetings to promote WM, share recycling information and advance sustainability messaging. 
•    Partner with various educational institutions to develop outreach campaigns, projects, customer and community presentations, seminars and special events.
•    Coordinate community-contact programs to promote good will by disseminating information to the community (or local Area staff).
•    Oversee WM’s community outreach and education programming by assisting with facility tours, presentations, community events, workshops and projects.
•    Support community involvement by supporting the company’s programs for volunteerism, giving and related community involvement (e.g., volunteer committees, United Way campaigns, Earth Day events).
•    Assist with tracking company community projects such as employee volunteers and company dollars for events that support the communities where WM currently resides and where the company is strengthening community and municipal relationships.
 
III. Qualifications 

A. Required Qualifications 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or related field, or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Four (4) years of related experience
  • 3 years previous experience in community relations (in addition to education requirements).

Pay: The expected base pay range for this on site position is $72K - $85K This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
