WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Systems Engineer I, Cybersecurity Junior Auditor, you will support cybersecurity assessment and audit activities while developing hands‑on experience through mentorship, training, and collaborative project work. This role is ideal for candidates early in their cybersecurity or compliance careers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in conducting cybersecurity maturity assessments against established standards
  • Support policy review and development, ensuring alignment with industry best practices
  • Help with framework alignment (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and development of security roadmaps
  • Gather, analyze, and document data for audit and assessment reports
  • Identify gaps and contribute to basic remediation recommendations
  • Collaborate with IT, security, and compliance teams under supervision
  • Participate in mentoring, training, and knowledge‑sharing activities
  • Stay informed on regulatory requirements and cybersecurity trends
  • Communicate findings and observations clearly with guidance from senior team members

WHAT YOU’LL BRING 

  • One (1) or more years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, risk, compliance, or a related field
  • Foundational knowledge of:
    • Networking concepts
    • Cybersecurity principles
    • Risk management fundamentals
    • Regulatory and security frameworks (e.g., NIST basics)
  • Basic familiarity with audit tools and assessment methodologies
  • Understanding of cybersecurity governance concepts
  • Understanding of policy development and documentation
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment under supervision
  • Willingness to pursue and obtain a relevant Compliance, Security, or Policy Auditor certification (e.g., ISACA CISA, GIAC GCCC, or equivalent) within the first six months of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to cybersecurity assessments, audits, or compliance activities
  • Familiarity with additional frameworks (NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, CIS, etc.)
  • Academic, internship, or project experience related to cybersecurity or risk
  • Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn within a consulting or advisory environment
