Job Summary

The Systems Engineering Intern will support the Integration Services team in configuring, testing, and validating customer hardware and software environments. This internship offers hands-on experience with enterprise systems, scripting, and infrastructure automation. Interns will collaborate with engineering and IT teams to assist in system builds, troubleshoot performance issues, and contribute to process documentation. This role is ideal for students seeking exposure to real-world data center operations, automation, and cross-functional engineering workflows.

Role Description 

Include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assist in installing and configuring operating systems and application software for customer orders 

  • Support the setup of VPNs and infrastructure in collaboration with IT and security teams, as and when needed. 

  • Monitor and test application performance under supervision 

  • Help maintain customer-owned equipment in secure environments Contribute to development and testing of automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) 

  • Participate in validation and troubleshooting of firmware and device drivers 

  • Shadow senior engineers during Linux server, switch, storage, or firewall configuration and deployment 

  • Document procedures and findings to support operational efficiency 

  • Engage in team meetings and cross-functional coordination with QC and Project Management 

  • Stay current on industry trends and technologies relevant to data center engineering

Skill Level Requirements 

  • Ability to assist with installation and configuration of operating systems and application software for customer environments. – Beginner 

  • Ability to develop and troubleshoot basic automation scripts using PowerShell or Python. – Beginner

  • Ability to monitor and report on application and system performance, escalating issues as needed. – Beginner 

  • Ability to document technical procedures and findings clearly and accurately. – Intermediate 

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives. – Intermediate 

  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. – Intermediate 

  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, or networking concepts, with willingness to apply and expand this knowledge. – Beginner 

 
Other Requirements 

 

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in good academic standing working towards a bachelor’s degree. 

  • Must be available to participate for the full 12-week internship duration. 

  • Must be able to work onsite as required by the internship program.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 

The pay range for this position is $20.00 per hour.
