About this role
Join Con Edison as an AI Product & Strategy Systems Specialist within the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) organization. In partnership with Enterprise Technology & Security (ETS) and the business, you will own the end-to-end AI product lifecycle for key business domains. You will translate business needs into structured AI initiatives and serve as the connective tissue between stakeholders and engineering, from intake through production.
The Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) team is driving Con Edisons evolution into a data driven, AI enabled utility. Success in this role means being a single point of contact between stakeholders for your assigned domains, delivering highly coordinated and high value returns on specific AI product investments, and applying consistent product discipline across every initiative you own.
This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.
Responsibilities
- Own the end to end AI product lifecycle for business domains, from intake through discovery, design, delivery, and post-production optimization
- Serve as the single point of contact between ED&A, ETS, and business stakeholders to capture, qualify, and structure AI initiative requests, translating business needs into well-defined problem statements, use cases, and product requirements
- Drive AI initiative intake and demand activities while authoring product requirements documentation, including PRDs, non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and CREATe approval materials
- Conduct business process mapping and user journey mapping to surface pain points, identify AI opportunities, and inform solution design
- Build business cases for assigned initiatives, including benefits hypotheses, value drivers, and success metrics, and track value realization post-deployment
- Maintain the product backlog for your domains, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and resource constraints
- Coordinate across delivery teams, vendors, and platform partners within agile frameworks to keep initiatives on track and unblock issues quickly
- Lead product demos, sprint reviews, and stakeholder showcases for your domains, communicating progress and gathering structured feedback
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and ensure AI products meet quality and adoption standards before production release
- Monitor product performance post-deployment, gather user feedback, and drive continuous improvement
- Develop status updates, stakeholder communications, and executive-ready materials for your domain initiatives, translating technical concepts into business-relevant language
- Surface and track dependencies across platform, data governance, and data activation workstreams that affect your initiatives
- Apply and reinforce product management standards, templates, and best practices established for the AI portfolio
Qualifications
- Master's Degree and a minimum of 2 years relevant full-time work experience or
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant full-time work experience or
- Associate's Degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant full-time work experience or
- High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 7 years relevant full-time work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business, or technology-centric field and a minimum of 5 years relevant full-time work experience in Engineering or AI/ML/Data Delivery
- Demonstrated experience in product management, business analysis, or technical program management for data, analytics, or AI/ML solutions, preferred
- Experience working in one of the following business domains in a major utility Asset Management or Engineering, Work Execution or Construction, Supply Chain, Electrification, preferred
- Experience working in agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), preferred
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience across business and technical audiences, preferred
- Experience with business process mapping, journey mapping, or use case development, preferred
- Experience supporting business case development, benefits tracking, or value realization, preferred
- Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives, preferred
- Experience with AI/ML technologies and data platforms, preferred
- Familiarity with utilities, energy, or regulated industries, preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaboration and team building skills
- Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments
- Develops and delivers effective presentations
- Driver's License Required
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
