About this role
Job Summary:
The Talent Acquisition Intern will support both mill operations and corporate offices by assisting with recruiting, engagement, and candidate experience initiatives across Columbia Forest Products. This internship offers hands-on exposure to full‑cycle recruiting support, HR processes, workforce engagement, and employer‑branding activities. The ideal candidate is outgoing, detail‑oriented, and passionate about helping build strong teams rooted in CFP’s values and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Support – Mill & Corporate Hiring
- Assist with posting jobs internally and externally, following posting standards and naming conventions.
- Screen resumes for hourly mill roles and corporate administrative/professional roles.
- Coordinate interviews, plant tours, and onsite hiring activities with HR Managers at various mills.
- Help track applicants, hiring progress, and candidate communications in CFP systems.
- Support college outreach and community recruiting events as needed.
Candidate Experience & Engagement
- Communicate with candidates throughout the process to ensure a positive and timely experience.
- Prepare interview packets, schedules, and follow‑up communications.
- Assist with new hire orientation materials and first‑day readiness at mills and corporate sites.
- Participate in Internship Program support and engagement activities.
HR Coordination & Relationship Building
- Partner with HR Managers across multiple mill locations to understand hiring needs and role requirements.
- Collaborate with corporate HR to standardize recruiting processes and share best practices company‑wide.
- Support HR initiatives that promote CFP’s values of We Are Family, Share the Success, and Absolute Integrity.
Employer Brand & Communication
- Assist in drafting job postings, recruiting materials, and social‑style content tailored for mill and corporate audiences.
- Ensure postings reflect CFP culture and are accessible to external applicants unfamiliar with CFP’s internal terminology.
- Provide input on engagement strategies to attract diverse and high‑quality candidates.
Administrative & Project Support
- Maintain organized documentation, trackers, HR files, and candidate notes.
- Support HR projects related to workforce stability, retention, and employee engagement.
- Participate in HR team meetings and cross‑location coordination efforts.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, or a related field.

- Duration of internship will be from June 1st to August 14th.
