Responsibilities
The Tax Analyst role supports core tax compliance, provision, research, and automation activities across federal, state, and international tax areas. The position emphasizes the use of technology, AI tools, and data analytics to streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and improve overall tax operations. Success requires analytical strength, attention to detail, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
Activities:
- Support federal, state, and international notices, filings, and correspondence, including tracking refunds, payments, and follow-ups.
- Gather, analyze, and organize data for monthly legislative review.
- Incorporate global workpapers into worldwide models using automation tools.
- Draft initial step plans for legal entity simplification initiatives.
- Support credit and incentive applications and compliance.
- Prepare calculations for book-to-tax differences, including UNICAP and fixed-asset-related adjustments.
- Leverage AI tools and workflow automation to improve data gathering, reconciliation, and review processes.
- Identify and automate repetitive compliance, provision, and administrative tasks.
- Develop analytics workflows and dashboards to improve accuracy and transparency.
- Support various tax research, forecasting, fixed-asset, and apportionment projects as needed.
- Work on ad-hoc projects as required.
Qualifications
Skillset:
- Experience with automation, AI tools, and tax data platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Copilot, OneSource).
- Ability to structure and simplify complex tax data for analysis and decision-making.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written communication able to summarize tax concepts for non-tax stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally while managing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities to meet important internal deadlines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master of Taxation or CPA preferred.
- High proficiency with Excel and tax-related data automation tools.
- Familiarity with tax research software; preferably Bloomberg BNA.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Comfort with emerging tax technologies and automation tools.
