Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Seattle WA | 2026–2027 School Year
Ampersand Therapy is hiring an itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2026–2027 school year in the Seattle WA area. We are a women- and therapist-founded company committed to creating a supportive employment experience for school-based professionals. Job Highlights:
Position: Teacher of the Visually Impaired
Setting: In-person and school-based
Schedule: Full time, approximately 8:00 AM–3:30 PM
Maximum Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Dates: August 27, 2026–June 19, 2027
Grade Levels: All grade levels
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students who are blind or visually impaired
Assess students’ functional vision and learning-media needs
Support instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs
Adapt instructional materials and recommend appropriate assistive technology
Collaborate with teachers, families, related service providers, and school teams
Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Travel between assigned school sites as needed
Qualifications:
Valid state teaching credential with an endorsement in visual impairments
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education, visual impairments, or a related field
Experience working with school-aged students preferred
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
