About this role
International Motors is seeking an experienced engineer to join our Certification & Compliance organization as a Technical Domain Owner supporting both current product programs and the rapidly evolving landscape of digital vehicle systems and emerging technologies.
The Technical Domain Owner – Digital Vehicle Systems & Emerging Technologies combines systems thinking, engineering, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional collaboration. As the Technical Domain Owner, you will serve as the Certification & Compliance focal point for assigned vehicle programs while leading the Emerging Vehicle Technologies domain. You will work closely with Engineering, Product Development, Validation, Government Relations, Legal, and other stakeholders to help ensure new products are positioned to satisfy evolving regulatory and industry requirements.
A key responsibility of this position is understanding how emerging technologies—including cybersecurity, functional safety, software-defined vehicles, connected vehicle technologies, advanced driver assistance systems, artificial intelligence, over-the-air software updates, and vehicle data technologies—affect commercial vehicle design, certification, and long-term product strategy. You will help strengthen International Motors' capabilities in these rapidly evolving areas by integrating technical knowledge with regulatory understanding and practical product development.
You will monitor and evaluate proposed regulations, legislation, consensus standards, and industry guidance to determine their applicability to International Motors products. Working collaboratively with Government Relations, Engineering, and Certification & Compliance leadership, you will assess technical impacts, develop implementation strategies, and contribute technical insight that supports the company's positions on emerging regulations, standards, and public policy.
The role also provides opportunities to participate in industry associations, standards development organizations, and technical working groups, helping International Motors remain informed of emerging technologies while contributing technical perspectives to the development of future regulations and consensus standards.
Success in this position requires the ability to connect engineering, regulations, standards, and product development into practical compliance and business strategies. The ideal candidate enjoys learning new technologies, working across organizational boundaries, and translating complex technical and regulatory topics into actionable guidance for engineering teams and business leaders.
This is an opportunity to help shape how International Motors prepares for the next generation of commercial vehicle technologies while serving as a trusted partner across engineering, Certification & Compliance, and Government Relations.
Critically, the Technical Domain Owner will join us in demonstrating and fostering the values and principles of the International Way.
