About this role

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience leveraging automation for process engineering.
  • Experience designing and implementing technical regulatory controls within trust and safety.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience developing and automating complex technical transformation programs in a compliance context.
  • Experience partnering with engineering to create a collaborative, trusted, and dynamic collaboration.
  • Ability to deliver persuasive, concise, and engaging verbal and written communications for audiences, and to influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $237000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement technical regulatory controls within Trust and Safety.
  • Drive the maturation of the existing control environment by identifying and implementing opportunities for automation, and a proficient use of AI, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with trust and safety colleagues, product area partners (e.g., engineering and product teams) Legal, Policy, and other cross-functional teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications, ensuring that work is prioritized and launched as functioning controls.
  • Define program scope, objectives, and key results (OKRs), breaking down ambiguous technical problems into simplified plans with clear milestones and deliverables.
  • Evaluate design choices, assess implementation risks, and ensure solutions are scalable and auditable.
