About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Technical Documentation Specialist to support the creation and maintenance of high-quality wiring and electrical system documentation for automotive applications.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, electrical design, and service teams to transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on automotive or wiring harness experience with strong technical writing skills and a passion for ensuring data accuracy across multiple engineering sources.


The project hours of operations will be Monday – Friday, in which candidate must be available to work an 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Time.

Contractors will be engaged andpaidby a third-party payroll supplier,eTeam, which will serve as the employer of record for tax and compliance purposes.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Develop clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation for automotive wiring systems, electrical components, connectors, and related vehicle systems.
  • Gather, verify, and consolidate wiring data from multiple engineering sources, including 3D CAD metadata, wiring schematics, 2D engineering drawings, and supplier platforms.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Design, Engineering, and Service teams to validate documentation accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Perform vehicle-based data collection activities when required, capturing wiring, harness routing, connector configurations, and component details.
  • Create and maintain connector end views, wiring references, and other technical documentation deliverables that support engineering and service functions.

Deliverables or Project Scope

  • Accurate and up-to-date automotive wiring documentation packages.
  • Connector detail documentation, connector end views, and wiring reference materials.
  • Consolidated wiring data repositories sourced from engineering drawings, schematics, CAD systems, and supplier documentation.
  • Documentation updates supporting vehicle development, validation, and serviceability initiatives.
  • Technical content that enables engineering, service, and diagnostic teams to effectively interpret vehicle wiring information.

Collaboration Tools or Platforms

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • 3D CAD systems and engineering metadata platforms.
  • Wiring schematic and electrical diagram authoring/review tools.
  • Supplier documentation portals and engineering collaboration platforms.
  • Vehicle diagnostic and technical reference systems (as applicable).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in automotive wiring harnesses, vehicle electrical systems, technical documentation, or related engineering support functions.
  • Working knowledge of automotive electrical components, wiring diagrams, and harness routing principles.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, or maintaining technical documentation and engineering records.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on automotive technician experience.
  • Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with CAD authoring tools and automotive engineering documentation systems.
  • Familiarity with connector design, wiring architecture, and service information development.

Compensation for contractor roles supporting Accenture is determined by the contractor’s employereTeam, and varies depending on factors such as location, role, skill set, and experience.
