Overview
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Position supports multiple IU Health facilities
Benchmarks for Success
- First 3 Months: Build relationships with facility staff and begin responding to service calls independently
- 6 Months: Fully dependable, able to manage workload independently
- 12 Months: Proactively identify facility needs and recommend process or system improvements
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to daily maintenance requests and work orders from staff
- Perform general maintenance including:
- Electrical (secondary systems)
- Plumbing
- Painting
- Hardware repairs
- Complete both scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including:
- Plumbing, HVAC/air systems, and electrical systems
- Maintain, inspect, and repair equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements
- Conduct routine building and grounds inspections
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities
- Recommend improvements to facility systems to support patient care needs
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience
- General knowledge of:
- Electrical secondary systems
- Plumbing systems
- Fire system devices
- Air/HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Basic computer skills required
- Valid Indiana driver’s license with proof of insurance may be required
- Knowledge of healthcare building codes preferred
