Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI is looking for bright and highly motivated college students and recent graduates to support and learn from our talented and diverse team of technology professionals.

The intern will work under the supervision of a technical manager within one or more of KCI's many diverse technology service areas (business analysis, solutions & software engineering, GIS & data analytics, machine learning, etc.) to gain exposure to real world projects and daily work tasks. Summer interns will work up to a 40-hour week, during the period from June to the end of August. Interns will be assigned a supervisor and mentor, are required to attend planned activities, and must submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports/presentations.

Depending on the selected candidates’ career field, the duties may include:

  • Documenting functional and technical requirements
  • Developing process documentation
  • Developing and/or executing test cases
  • Training support
  • Technology solution research and evaluation
  • Software configuration
  • Programming
  • Identifying, creating, extracting, cleaning, transforming, analyzing, representing and/or validating geospatial and non-geospatial data
  • Identify available datasets online for machine learning model training
  • Perform data labeling for machine learning models
  • Support machine learning model building activities
  • Field data collection
  • UAS visual observation

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a college computer science, information technology, geography/geospatial, mathematics, business, or related program.
  • No experience required.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
