The Registrar of Voters Office conducts elections for San Diego County

The San Diego County Registrar of Voters is seeking qualified individuals to fill temporary positions in the Recruitment Department for the June 2, 2026, Primary Election.

Recruiter Assistants are responsible for recruiting and staffing vote centers throughout San Diego County prior to Primary, General, and Special Elections. Daily tasks and responsibilities include making and receiving calls, collecting and entering confidential information into a data management system, determining poll worker assignments and fulfilling all bilingual poll worker allocations, managing and tracking poll worker payroll, and ensuring all recruitment goals are met according to scheduled timelines.

This recruitment is open continuously and can close at any time once the business needs of the department have been met. Please apply immediately.

Schedule:
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday - Friday
  • Overtime hours leading up to and during the election will be required
  • Time off during the election cycle is very limited
General Skills/ Abilities:
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions as well as established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast – paced atmosphere.
  • Perform tasks with precise attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiar with computers and office equipment
  • Reliable and available to work the duration of the election cycle including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Maintain excellent rapport with co-workers, other County employees, representatives of outside agencies and members of the public.
  • Willing to collaborate and be a team player.
  • Outstanding customer service and telephone skills.
  • Efficiently perform repetitive and strategic tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to always represent the department in a professional and non-partisan manner while working.
