Duke Raleigh Campus Hematology Oncology Clinic seeks to hire an experienced Registered Nurse who embraces our mission of Advancing Health Together.

Hematologists and oncologists at Duke Raleigh Hospital Cancer Center Hematology/Oncology offer comprehensive treatments for almost every type of cancer.

Schedule: (3) 10-hour shifts

How you will make an impact

  • Plan, provide, document, and evaluate professional nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with physician orders, policies, and procedures.
  • Individualize patient care plans based on assessment, patient response, and clinical judgment.
  • Delegate and supervise activities of licensed and unlicensed personnel, serving as team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
  • Support quality and safety by maintaining the environment of care, participating in performance improvement, and adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to professional development by maintaining competencies, participating in learning opportunities, and precepting staff and learners.

What you will need

  • Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
  • All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.
  • Nurses hired at Duke Health with a valid compact license are required to obtain their North Carolina nursing license within 90 days of their start date.
  • BLS required.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing practice, scope, and application of the nursing process.
  • Ability to assess patient needs, plan and deliver care, and educate patients and families.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to document accurately using electronic or paper systems and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to maintain focus, organization, and physical stamina required for patient care environments.
