About our group:

Seagate Technology is looking for a test process & firmware engineering intern to join our product development team in Shakopee, MN. As an intern, you’ll get hands-on experience working with mentors to help develop and improve the manufacturing test process for our advanced Cloud hard disk drives.

About the role - you will:

  • Help develop, test, and integrate solutions for the recording, servo and firmware subsystems. Work on hardware bring up, help troubleshoot issues, and learn how to characterize drive performance.
  • Work closely with different engineering teams, including those who design hardware and firmware, as well as process engineers and teams launching products at our factories.
  • Get to know many parts of our company—plan technology projects, help integrate new ideas, support product launches at our volume sites overseas.

About you:

  • You enjoy hands-on work and are good at finding and fixing firmware issues. This role is very team-oriented, so strong communication skills and a willingness to learn are important.
  • You’re available to intern during summer 2026, starting in May or June.
  • Experience with Python and C programming is a plus. Knowing how to use source code systems like Perforce is helpful.

Your experience includes:

  • You like solving tough problems and thinking creatively.
  • You’re currently a junior or senior working toward a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Math, Physics, or Computer Science and enrolled in Fall 2026 classes.
