WHAT YOU’LL DO We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting unit-level accounting operations, managing invoice entry and reconciliation, and assisting with financial reporting across multiple restaurant locations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a restaurant environment. Unit-Level Accounting • Perform daily and monthly accounting functions for assigned restaurant units, ensuring accurate financial reporting. • Review and reconcile sales reports, cash deposits, payroll entries, and accounts payable/receivable activity. • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are supported with proper documentation. • Analyze unit-level financial data to identify discrepancies or trends affecting profitability. Invoice & Expense Management • Enter, code, and process invoices accurately and timely in the accounting system. • Verify vendor information, coding, and approvals in accordance with company policies. • Assist with accruals, expense allocations, and vendor reconciliations. • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, credit memos, and payment inquiries. P&L and Financial Reporting • Assist in preparing monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for each location. • Review and analyze P&L variances, highlighting trends and providing insights to management. • Support monthly and quarterly closing processes by posting journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts. • Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements by gathering data from multiple units and systems. Process Improvement & Compliance • Develop and maintain accounting procedures, ensuring consistency across brands and units. • Recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting workflows. • Protect the organization’s financial integrity by maintaining confidentiality and internal controls. • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and schedules. HR Compliance, Payroll Auditing & Onboarding • Support payroll auditing by verifying employee hours, pay rates, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy prior to processing. • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts, including taxes, benefits, and accruals. • Partner with HR to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, including proper documentation for minors and employment eligibility. • Assist in maintaining accurate employee records, job codes, and status changes within the HRIS and accounting systems. • Participate in the onboarding process by verifying completion of new hire paperwork, setting up payroll records, and ensuring accurate integration with accounting and benefits systems. • Assist in audits and reporting related to benefits, workers’ compensation, and other employee-related compliance programs. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration • 1–3 years of accounting experience (restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit experience preferred) • Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting principles • Proficiency with Excel, Business Central, Toast, and Restaurant 365 • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skills • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with operations and management teams
