About this role

Leads and manages a team of instructors to design, develop, and deliver technical training programs that directly improve manufacturing performance, workforce capability, and operational efficiency. Ensures training solutions are aligned to business priorities, enabling increased productivity, standardized execution, and reduced operational variation. 

Implements Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation training programs to drive waste reduction, improve process flow, and enhance throughput while ensuring alignment with quality systems such as ISO and regulatory compliance standards. Drives measurable cost reduction by closing skill gaps, improving first-time quality, and reinforcing standardized work. 

Facilitates adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies by developing workforce capabilities in Industry 4.0, automation, and digital workflows. Strengthens organizational agility through cross‑training strategies and ensures readiness for new product introductions and evolving production demands. Reinforces safety, environmental, and compliance requirements through structured training programs that promote a proactive safety culture. 

Develops and maintains instructional systems, oversee LMS governance, tracks performance metrics, and ensures training effectiveness is aligned with operational KPIs. Drive continuous improvement across learning systems to support Operational Excellence and business growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Improving Efficiency & Productivity 

  • Develop and deploy Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation training programs to improve line efficiency and throughput. 

  • Drive reduction in training-related performance gaps impacting cycle time, output, and productivity. 

  • Establish training systems that support standardized work and reduce process variability. 

  • Enhancing Quality & Compliance 

  • Deliver structured training aligned to ISO, GMP, and internal quality standards to ensure consistent product quality. 

  • Drive reduction in defects, rework, and customer complaints through targeted capability development. 

  • Ensure training programs are audit-ready, traceable, and compliant with internal and external requirements. 

  • Driving Cost Reduction & Waste Minimization 

  • Identify and close skill gaps that contribute to scrap, rework, downtime, and inefficiencies. 

  • Implement training initiatives that support cost reduction, yield improvement, and resource optimization. 

  • Monitor training impact on cost-related KPIs (e.g., scrap reduction, productivity gains). 

  • Integrating Technology & Innovation 

  • Develop workforce capability in Industry 4.0, automation, AI, and digital tools to support manufacturing transformation. 

  • Lead training readiness for new systems, tools, and process changes to ensure smooth implementation and adoption. 

  • Support digital learning strategies that improve scalability and efficiency. 

  • Building Workforce Agility & Flexibility 

  • Design and implement cross-training strategies to improve workforce flexibility and coverage. 

  • Ensure workforce readiness for new product introductions, ramp-ups, and process changes. 

  • Improve time-to-competence and certification rates across production roles. 

  • Strengthening Safety & Environmental Compliance 

  • Delivery training aligned to OSHA, EPA, and internal safety standards to reduce incident risk. 

  • Reinforce safe behaviors including PPE use, hazard identification, machine safety, and emergency response. 

  • Promote a culture of safety ownership and continuous improvement in safety performance. 

  • Employee Development & Retention 

  • Establish structured onboarding programs to accelerate new hire productivity and integration. 

  • Develop leadership and technical capability programs to support career progression and succession planning. 

  • Improve engagement and retention by demonstrating measurable value of training programs. 

  • Enhancing Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement 

  • Train workforce in problem-solving methodologies (RCA, 8D, Kaizen) to improve issue resolution capability. 

  • Strengthening associates’ ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives linked to training effectiveness and operational KPIs. 

  • Managing Training Resources & Learning Systems 

  • Oversee LMS governance to ensure accurate tracking of training completion, certifications, and compliance. 

  • Manage training centers, materials, and digital learning environments to support effective delivery. 

  • Control and optimize training budgets while maintaining effectiveness and scalability. 

  • Supporting Performance Management & KPI Alignment 

  • Align all training initiatives to key operational KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost). 

  • Establish and monitor training effectiveness metrics (e.g., time-to-competence, certification rates, audit findings). 

  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership to drive data-based decision making. 

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in training, manufacturing, or a related field. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Education, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience in training and development within a manufacturing environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field. 

  • 5+ years of leadership or people management experience. 

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including electrical and thermal systems, safety, and data center operations. 

  • Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning methodologies. 

  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and training technologies. 

  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives, analyze data, and implement effective training solutions. 

  • Experience partnering with senior leadership to align training strategy with business objectives. 

  • Knowledge of IT best practices (ITIL, Lean, Oracle) and Operational Excellence methodologies. 

  • Experience managing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and deliver training programs. 

  • Experience designing technical training environments (Power, Thermal, Data Center).
