Duties
Responsible for the design and development of training materials for relevant courses.,Accountable for staff leadership, management, direction, coordination, and oversight and control of the training support programs within USSOUTHCOM.,Provide policy and procedural guidance to USSOUTHCOM, Service Components, and other agencies in areas such as training support coordination, master scheduling, and training evaluation systems.,Manage the design of training courses to include mandatory training sequence, course length, lesson outlines, learning objectives, and resource requirements.,Develop unique training programs to fulfill personnel's specific needs to maintain or improve job skills and performance.

Developing unique training programs to fulfill personnel's specific needs to maintain or improve job skills and performance; 2. Coordinating with educational institutions to provide targeted leadership and development trainings for command personnel; and 3. Designing training courses to fulfill mission requirements ensuring operational readiness throughout the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 5 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. "Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position." Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 5 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted.
