About this role
About the Department
The Transfer Credit Coordinator is a member of the Registrar's Office team and is responsible for the independent administration of transfer and non-course credit processes. This position coordinates with academic departments and external educational entities regarding credit evaluation and awarding, provides guidance on transfer credit policies and procedures, and supports institutional efforts to enhance the student experience. The position exercises judgment in evaluating academic credentials and applying established policies and procedures related to transfer and advanced standing credit.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage all aspects of transfer credit evaluation, including the review of domestic, military, and international coursework; evaluate academic transcripts; determine transfer credit awards; and maintain transfer credit equivalencies within the student information system
- Coordinate credit determinations with academic departments by researching course descriptions, maintaining institutional information, and ensuring the accurate awarding and transcription of transfer credit.
- Administer non-course credit evaluation processes, including Advanced Placement (AP), CLEP, DSST, International Baccalaureate (IB), and experiential learning credit; maintain related databases and resources; and provide guidance regarding advanced standing opportunities
- Serve as a resource for students, faculty, staff, advisors, recruiters, and other stakeholders by interpreting transfer credit policies and procedures and providing training and support as needed.
- Maintain website content, forms, and other informational resources related to transfer credit and advanced standing; identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, and the student experience.
- Provide customer service support within the Registrar's Office, assist students with enrollment-related questions, support other functional areas as needed, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Duties
This position requires a bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in student services programs
- Experience in higher education, enrollment management, records, admissions, advising, or transfer credit evaluation.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague, document imaging systems, academic records, and transfer credit processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment
Other Qualifications
This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to support operational needs.
