Provide complete information regarding each medication identified (i.e., drug, dose, route, frequency, indication for PRN, and last dose taken-date/time).%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EObtain information by interviewing the patient, family, calling local pharmacies, Long Term Care facilities and other resources.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EVerify patient allergy information and ensure complete documentation (i.e., substance, allergy category, reaction description) and coordinate medication history assessment with nursing team.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EDocument the medication history and allergy information in the electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner.%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPrior Authorization Activities may include:%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EInitiate and coordinate prior authorization requests in the automated prior authorization system.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAct as a liaison between the Clinical Department and members, providers, pharmacies, and internal departments and respond to inquiries regarding status of prior authorization requests.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssist with internal and external reporting requests and summarize internal program statistics.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3Emaintain prior authorization management solution, including:%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EInterpretation and application of prior authorization guideline revisions.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EConfiguration and quality assurance of clinical criteria, decision scenarios, and other elements.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EDevelopment and maintenance of notification templates in compliance with client plan language and other regulatory requirements.%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ECompare prescription claims data against requested parameters and summarize/present results or recommendations.%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPrescription Refill Authorization Activities may include:%3Cul%3E%3Cli%3EUtilize authorized physician protocol to process prescription refill requests in a timely manner and documents into EMR system.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EConduct patient and pharmacy callbacks in a time efficient manner while maintaining proper phone etiquette.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EHandle intake of multiple phone lines using established scripts, protocols and service processes.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3ERespond to each call in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAccurately track and enter calls using appropriate documentation, reporting, and database applications.%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EAssist with maintaining department databases and resource tools.%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3C/li%3E%3Cli%3EPerforms other duties as assigned.%3C/li%3E%3C/ul%3E%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3ESECURITY AND EEO STATEMENT%3C/strong%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cstrong%3ESecurity%3C/strong%3E%3Cbr%3EThis position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cstrong%3EEEO%3C/strong%3E%3Cbr%3EUT Southwestern Medical Center is committed to an educational and working environment that provides equal opportunity to all members of the University community.
