District Roadway Design Engineer
· Lead and supervise a team, overseeing the delivery of assigned roadway improvement projects, including pavement rehabilitation, safety enhancements, and active transportation upgrades.
· Serve as the district’s primary asset owner and inventory manager for all curb ramps, ensuring accurate tracking and up-to-date information.
· Lead the review of all capital projects to ensure compliance with established roadway and active transportation engineering policies, standards, and regulations.
· Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) in roadway and active transportation design, providing technical guidance to project managers, consultants, and district personnel.
· Serves as the primary liaison between district personnel and the Office of Roadway Engineering, implementing policy and standards updates while determining when complex roadway plan reviews require central office involvement

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
