Position Overview
The Treasury Intern will support the Treasurer and Treasury team in managing daily cash activities, accounts receivable (AR) tracking, and treasury reporting while helping design, test, and improve AI‑driven treasury and AR workflows. The role begins with learning core treasury and AR processes to understand business logic and controls, then applies that knowledge to develop practical, automated tools that improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency with appropriate controls and human oversight.
This internship offers meaningful responsibility, direct mentorship from treasury leadership, and hands‑on experience building practical AI solutions within a live finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury and AR Operations
- Update and reconcile daily cash balances and support cash positioning.
- Maintain the AR aging schedule by updating customer payment statuses.
- Flag overdue accounts and assist in preparing reminder notices or follow‑ups.
- Support preparation of weekly and monthly treasury/AR reports (for example: collections summaries, DSO trends, and other reporting inputs).
Process Learning and Documentation
- Learn core treasury and AR workflows, controls, and reporting inputs to build strong process context.
- Document workflows and control logic to support standardization and future automation.
AI, LLM, and Automation Development
- Support the Treasurer in building and testing AI‑enabled assistants and agents that guide users through structured treasury and AR processes.
- Translate workflows into clear, logical steps that can be embedded into prompts, assistants, or automated routines.
- Test AI outputs using real examples, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and iterate to improve reliability and usability.
- Identify manual, repetitive activities suitable for standardization and automation, aiming to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and increase transparency.
Analytics and Problem Solving
- Analyze payment patterns, collections behavior, and impacts on working capital to inform reporting, AI logic, and automation design.
- Apply structured problem solving and logical reasoning with an emphasis on simplification and scalability.
Ad Hoc Support and Growth
- Contribute to ad hoc treasury initiatives, which may include data analysis, basic modeling, prompt design, process documentation, and experimentation with new tools and concepts.
Qualifications
Education
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and eager to learn beyond assigned tasks.
- Logical thinker with solid problem‑solving ability and initiative.
Communication
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain findings and insights to team members.
Technical
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas required; advanced skills a plus) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
- Exposure to financial systems is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of or exposure to coding/data tools (for example: Python, SQL, VBA) is not required but strongly valued.
