The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking a UI Specialist I to join the UI Administration %26amp; Operational Support (UIA%26amp;OS) Department, to help provide Unemployment Insurance (UI) guidance and support to TWC staff across the state. This is an in-office position. The position may be located at 1411 Brazos St, Austin, TX or 301 W 13th St, Fort Worth, TX.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3ETWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3EWHO YOU ARE:%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3EA detailed-oriented professional ready to perform complex (journey-level) UI claims work within the Special Programs Unit. Working under general supervision, you will exercise moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment to research, investigate, and implement critical UI procedures, programs, and services. %26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3EYOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E- Use the UI benefits system to review all claims for proper payment and conformance to state and federal regulations.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E-Review information and perform functions as needed to ensure high quality and timely processing of assignments.%3Cbr%3E- Process special program claims, including Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA), UI ID assignment issues, appeals decisions and/or other UI related programs as needed.%3Cbr%3E- Perform advanced adjudication work such as separation and non-separation issues on Regular, Disaster and Extended Benefit claims and issues decisions on UI identity assignment issues.%3Cbr%3E- May assign work, provide training, assist management and conduct monitoring of special claims staff; assist in developing, and/or maintaining training material and standard operating procedures for the UIA %26amp;OS department; may recommend and coordinate activities to produce a more effective program.%3Cbr%3E- Utilize knowledge of UI to respond to telephone inquiries from claimants, employers, other states and other TWC departments related to UI Special Programs.%3Cbr%3E- Review procedures for conformance to laws, standards, and regulations and give expert testimony in Appeals Hearings.%3Cbr%3E- Perform supervisory duties within the parameters of granted permissions.%3Cbr%3E- Adhere to all Texas Workforce Commission and UI rules, regulations, and policies. %26nbsp;%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E- Perform related work as assigned required to meet the mission and goals of the department, division, and the Texas Workforce Commission agency.%3Cbr%3E- Serve our customers, other staff, groups, and situations with high level customer service in accordance with TWC’s mission, vision, and philosophy.%3Cbr%3E- Perform other duties as assigned.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3EYOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:%3Cbr%3E-Ability to handle multiple priorities with frequent interruptions%3Cbr%3E- Attention to detail and accuracy%3Cbr%3E- Recent experience with UI program and UI Benefits System%3Cbr%3E- Experience working in DUA %26amp; Identity Theft program%3Cbr%3E- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) knowledge%3Cbr%3E- Bilingual English/Spanish%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYOU QUALIFY WITH:%3Cbr%3E-Six months of full-time experience performing unemployment insurance claims examiner tasks; or six months of full-time experience in the gathering of information, interviewing, counseling, or in the instruction, demonstration, and interpretation of policies in a public or private enterprise; or six months of full-time experience in workforce development issues or programs.%3Cbr%3E-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E-Six months of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as an Unemployment Insurance Claims Examiner III or Customer Service Representative IV with regular status; or one year of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as an Unemployment Insurance Claims Examiner II or a Customer Service Representative III with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYOU GAIN:%26nbsp;%3Cbr%3E- Family Friendly Certified Workplace%3Cbr%3E- Competitive salary: %243,720.00/month%3Cbr%3E- Defined Retirement Benefit Plan%3Cbr%3E- Optional 401(k) and 457 accounts%3Cbr%3E- Medical Insurance%3Cbr%3E- Paid time off, including time for vacation, sick and family care leave.%3Cbr%3E- Additional benefits for active employees can be found at https://www.ers.texas.gov/Active-Employees/Health-Benefits%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWorks 40 hours a week during hours of operations.
