About this role
Responsibilities Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6223 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer adult behavioral health services. The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment. Website: https://www.nnmc.com This Unit Clerk/Secretary opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. Provides indirect/direct patient care in the Geropsych setting. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Prepares and compiles records in the Geropsych Unit. Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures and standards. Monitors security cameras. Assists RN with patient care as needed. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, coworkers, physicians and nursing director. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. Prepares medical records for new admissions and discharged patients Obtains appropriate nursing staff to assist patients/physicians in the care of the patient. Enters and verifies orders in the computer system. Logs all patients in the logbooks and in computer upon admission, transfer, discharge or expiration.
