You will help shape how the firm unlocks value from data by making it AI-ready—enabling better insights, stronger risk management, and scalable innovation. This role offers high-visibility work with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. You will influence strategy, operating models, and execution across critical data initiatives.
As a Vice President in Data Management Strategy within the Firmwide Chief Data Office, you will define and articulate a comprehensive data strategy that describes how the firm will unlock value from data by making it AI-ready. You will lead strategic initiatives to develop actionable business plans for implementing standards, adopting operating models, developing products and platforms, building a data-first culture, and driving governance. Initiatives include data products, metadata strategy, and data publishing.
This role is critical to the modernization of the firm’s data management and governance practices. You will provide thought leadership and partner with senior leaders across lines of business and corporate functions. You will also help the team communicate strategy through clear narratives, analysis, and executive-ready materials.
Job responsibilities
- Define the Chief Data Office vision and target-state strategy, including actionable business plans
- Establish the scope and prioritization of data management initiatives
- Apply structured problem-solving and design thinking to address top strategic priorities
- Collect, synthesize, analyze, and present project data and findings
- Conduct analyses to identify issues and formulate recommendations
- Develop strategic presentations for internal and external audiences
- Perform competitor and industry research using public and internal sources
- Monitor industry trends and share reports and analyses with senior stakeholders and the broader team
- Coach and manage junior team members
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- At least five years of industry experience with a data, analytics, or product background
- Experience in strategy and problem solving, such as in management consulting, a technology firm, a banking division (for example, mergers and acquisitions, coverage, capital markets, equity research, or consumer banking), or an internal strategy team
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and apply quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving approaches
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and work under pressure
- Demonstrated interpersonal leadership and influencing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence and data management, with the ability to engage stakeholders on complex technical concepts and generate insights
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience and technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture
- MBA or other advanced degree
