Responsibilities
- Produces digital content leveraging innovative methods and design, ensuring accessibility and universal design standards.
- Carry out video and photography projects, including concept development, shot lists, filming, editing, and alignment with brand identity.
- Advance the School’s digital presence by producing and collaborating on digital content for prospective and current students, alumni, community partners, and new audiences.
- Compile digital metrics reporting and analytics to evaluate performance, ensure quality, and optimize engagement.
- Ensure visual and voice consistency across all digital media channels.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop ideas and campaigns that drive inbound traffic and paid/organic engagement.
- Recommends and implements a comprehensive social media strategy that grows and engages the School’s audiences.
- Manage day-to-day content calendars and directly maintain flagship channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube).
- Create and implement integrated content strategies that reflect institutional priorities and increase brand visibility.
- Continuously assess social performance to refine approaches for audience growth and impact.
- Serve as primary hands-on content manager and administrator of the Crown Family School website, ensuring accessibility standards are met.
- Support improvements to site architecture, navigation, interface design, and visual branding in alignment with UChicago standards.
- Train and support faculty, staff, and students in web content practices and ensure a positive user experience.
- Regularly update and maintain key pages to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with institutional goals.
- Leverage SEO tools and analytics to optimize site visibility and performance.
- Manage and execute CMS workflows and provide technical expertise to ensure site functionality.
- Establish and track performance goals and KPIs across digital platforms, providing actionable insights for leadership.
- Monitor and report on SEO performance, site health, and conversion effectiveness.
- Maintain a universal marketing and communications project calendar and manage project management workflow tools to ensure timely delivery.
- Provide recommendations to optimize digital campaigns, improve accessibility, and strengthen audience engagement.
- Plans, develops and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization's programs, accomplishments, or point of view, with moderate levels of guidance and direction.
- Accomplishes assigned duties through two or more of the following: written communications; visual/graphic media, which may include Web site development and maintenance; avenues of digital communications and social media. The incumbent is still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
- Solves a range of straightforward problems, as work assignments are difficult and broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Manage digital and social media assets (including routine website maintenance); compiles and analyzes relevant metrics based on established strategic goals.
- Performs other related work as needed.

- Master’s degree in marketing, digital communications, design, UX, public relations, data analytics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in digital marketing, web management, or multimedia communications for a complex organization - preferably in higher education, non-profit, or mission-driven environments.
- Experience managing content in a web content management system (CMS), preferably Drupal.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube) and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
- Experience producing digital content including basic video/photography coordination, editing, and multimedia storytelling.
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO best practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of web accessibility standards and compliance (e.g., WCAG 2.1), including use of accessibility tools such as Siteimprove.
- Experience with graphic design and visual content creation using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign), or similar platforms.
- Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
- Experience designing or optimizing website architecture, navigation, and user experience (UX), particularly for large or multi-unit organizations.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing integrated digital campaigns tied to organizational goals such as brand visibility, enrollment, or philanthropy.
- Experience leading or training contributors in CMS workflows, digital accessibility, style guidelines, or brand compliance.
- Familiarity with project management tools, digital editorial calendars, or collaborative workflow systems.
- Experience with audience segmentation, paid social campaigns, and developing content that drives measurable engagement and conversions.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex information clearly and accessibly
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of best practices in email and website content management and website user experience design and maintain site accuracy, health, and long-term quality.
- Understanding of best practices in digital storytelling multimedia production, and emerging digital communication trends.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train and guide contributors with varying technical experience.
- Experience working directly within a CMS (preferably Drupal) and proficiency with web authoring tools.
- Ability to interpret data from Google Analytics, social media insights, and SEO tools to inform decision-making.
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, work independently, and contribute as a member of a team.
- Experience with graphic design and visual content tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, InDesign).
- Familiarity with higher education environments and ability to navigate complex academic organizations and knowledge of the University of Chicago's unique culture and administrative systems beneficial.
