About this role

We are seeking an Adoption Recruiter to aid in adoptions from foster care, focusing primarily on children for whom it has been traditionally difficult to find families: older children, groups of siblings, and children with physical or emotional challenges. The philosophy of Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (WWK) is that “Unadoptable is Unacceptable.” WWK adoption recruiters employ effective, aggressive, and accountable child-focused recruitment activities. They directly engage youth to explore their attitudes towards adoption and seek their input on prospective adoptive resources. Recruiters conduct an exhaustive search for people with whom the child has had a bond or positive relationship

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Positions:
  • Maintains a case load of 12 to 15 foster children in need of loving, permanent homes.
  • Responsible for being highly responsive to communications with case planners, youth, and families.
  • Maintains accurate files and ensures all quarterly documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures all contact notes are complete and up to date, accurate and done on a timely schedule.
  • Enters required monthly documentation into Child Trends database in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Completes monthly visitation with all active clients.
  • Maintains regular contact with case planners assigned to cases.
  • Attends family team meeting and/or treatment team meetings on a regular basis.
  • Works with child welfare and other professionals involved with the child’s case for informational and planning purposes and to support recruitment efforts.
  • Engages in Child Focused Recruitment for each child using the WWK model as a guide.
  • Conducts diligent search for biological family members and other previous connections who may be resources for the waiting child.
  • Conducts file reviews of case records regularly to build a strong understanding of the client’s history and needs.
  • Meets annual match and adoption goals set by the Dave Thomas Foundation and ACS.
  • Supports children and families once matched to help ensure stability of placement and finalization.
  • Serves as a liaison for prospective adoptive families and the child’s county.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attends and actively participates a variety of internal and/or external meetings, committees, and/or events which may not be job related, but are related to the agency’s clients, mission, and/or its employees, such as but not limited to, All Staff Meetings, employee annual and or ad-hoc benefits meetings, agency galas, etc.
  • Complete training requirements established for WWK recruiters by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and trainings required by C.A.S.E
