Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Head Women's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach/Operations will assist with on-court training, competition preparation, and in-game coaching of the Women's Basketball Team but is not a designated off-campus recruiter. In addition, the incumbent will support all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the program. This position will operate in accordance with university regulations, as well as America East Conference and NCAA bylaws. NCAA Compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to all applicable NCAA rules, regulations, bylaws, constitutions, and related university rules, regulations, and policies.


Essential Functions:

  • Assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training sessions, and competition preparation.
  • Assist with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes in accordance with America East Conference and NCAA regulations. This position is not a designated off-campus recruiter.
  • Assist with player development by helping to develop training methods that improve the overall skill development of student-athletes during both the in-season and off-season.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Women's Basketball program.
  • Coordinate and manage team travel, including hotel accommodations, transportation (bus and airfare), and meals.
  • Secure practice and walk-through times at host institutions for all away competitions.
  • Oversee video exchange with opposing teams.
  • Assist with scouting opponents and preparing game plans.
  • Promote a culture of academic success and degree progress while supporting The Learning Center's initiatives for monitoring and advising student-athletes.
  • Initiate and coordinate team community service activities.
  • Maintain current healthcare certifications, including First Aid and CPR/AED.


Additional Functions:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Prerequisite Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of two years of coaching experience at the high school, competitive club, or collegiate level, or collegiate playing experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrated competitive coaching skills in the sport of basketball.
  • Knowledge of basketball rules and applicable NCAA regulations.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be waived where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience that specifically prepares the candidate for success in the position.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred.
     

Compensation: $40,000/annual
