Position Summary
The Intramural Sports Assistant supports the setup, monitoring, and breakdown of intramural events. This role helps ensure a safe, fun, and fair environment for all participants while assisting with basic event operations, officiating, and facility upkeep.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up and take down equipment before and after games
- Check in participants prior to events
- Monitor games and enforce rules to ensure player and spectator safety
- Educate participants on rules and expected conduct
- Provide basic first aid when needed (training provided)
- Complete incident reports for injuries or misconduct
- Maintain a working knowledge of intramural sports rules (training provided)
- Assist with additional student activity duties as assigned
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks (e.g., sweeping courts, organizing storage areas, picking up trash)
- Report injuries or incidents via the "Ready to Report" form on the State Tech website
- Work 5–10 hours per week, typically on Monday, Tuesday, and some Thursday evenings
Qualifications:
- Must qualify for Work Study through Financial Aid
- General knowledge of intramural sports rules and officiating (or willingness to learn)
- 1-2 years playing high school sports
- Willingness to listen, learn, and lead
- Ability to work with others and engage with others
Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00/hour (part-time, non-benefit eligible)
Work Schedule: Maximum of 10 hours per week
