Work-Study — Library Assistant
Part-Time, for the following shift:
• 7am-9am Monday-Friday
Student worker schedules can be adjusted around class times. Any schedule changes must accommodate overall staffing needs and be coordinated in advance.
Job Responsibilities: Library assistants aid as directed by Library Learning Services Specialist and/or Head of Library Learning Services. This position requires communication and computer skills. This position will require contact with the public, students and/or staff. Some lifting of books may be required.
Duties to be performed:
- Assist library patrons with finding and using resources, including technology
- Use the library system to check materials in and out
- Correctly shelve library materials
- Inventory and shelf read library collection
- Process incoming and outgoing interlibrary loans
- Property stamp periodicals and archive newspaper articles
- Actively participate in documentation and recordkeeping
- Communicate in a professional manner
- Perform general cleaning and equipment maintenance
- Perform other related duties as needed or assigned
Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00/hour (part-time, non-benefit eligible)
Work Schedule: Maximum of 10 hours per week
