Job Description
This position reports to the Labor Market Information (LMI) Division in Columbia. LMI produces and presents data, statistics, and analysis related to employment and the workforce including labor supply and demand, wages and income, labor force and unemployment statistics, employment projections, and labor force demographics. The Workforce Data Scientist Intern will assist in the development and implementation of LMI initiatives. The intern will produce content in a collaborative environment for reports, analyses, dashboards, and other products under the supervision of the unit manager. The selected individual will also provide support on matters of statistical methodology and analysis.

Position Duties

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Graduate coursework in economics and statistics and/or substantial experience in the development and presentation of quantitative analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience with SQL, Python, statistical software (e.g. R, SAS, SPSS, Stata), geographic information systems software (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS), and/or business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI).
